At Rye Heritage Centre

Rye is a beautiful little town on hill, in East Sussex. It rises up from the flat Romney Marsh. Rye is one of the cinque ports, that defended our south coast. The sea has now receeded, so the nearerst beaches of Camber Sands and Winchelsea, are a short distance away.

Although there is not much left of the original walls that surrounded the town, the Landgate (the main entrance), is still intact so are the charming cobbled streets, with perfectly preserved old buildings.

The history is awash with tales of smuggling, ghosts, battles and the like.

There are lovely places to visit and to stay or eat.
